Microsoft Internet Explorer
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0+
- Select "Internet Options" from the Tools menu.
- Click on the "Privacy" tab.
- Click the "Default" button (or manually slide the bar down to "Medium")
under "Settings".
- Click "OK".
- Select "Internet Options" from the Tools menu.
- Click on the "Security" tab.
- Select Medium
- Click OK
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x
- Select "Internet Options" from the Tools menu.
- Click on the "Security" tab.
- Click the "Custom Level" button.
- Scroll down to the "Cookies" section.
- To enable:
- Set "Allow cookies that are stored on your computer" to "Enable".
- Set "Allow per-session cookies" to "Enable".
- Click "OK".
Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x
- Select "Internet Options" from the View menu.
- Click on the "Advanced" tab.
- Scroll down to find "Cookies" within the "Security" section.
- To enable:
- Select "Always accept cookies".
- Click "OK".
Netscape / Mozilla / FireFox
Mozilla Firefox (1.0 final release and earlier)
- Go to the "Tools" menu.
- Select "Options".
- Select the "Privacy" icon in the left panel.
- Check the box corresponding to "Allow sites to set cookies".
- Click "OK" to save changes.
Netscape 7.1/Mozilla 5.0
- Select "Preferences" from the Edit menu.
- Click on the arrow next to "Privacy & Security" in the scrolling window
to expand.
- Under "Privacy & Security", select "Cookies."
- Select "Enable all cookies".
- Click "OK".
Netscape Communicator 4.x
- Select "Preferences" from the Edit menu.
- Find the "Cookies" section in the "Advanced" category.
- To enable:
- Select "Accept all cookies" (or "Enable all cookies").
- Click "OK".
America Online
In America OnLine (AOL) for Windows, Internet
Explorer is built in BUT is directly tied to the Internet Explorer
installed on your Windows Machine.
To change the cookie setting you would (for Windows)
click on Start --> Settings --> Internet options -->Security tab.
In there, you can choose the security level for 4 different browsing conditions:
- Internet Sites
- Local Sites
- Trusted Sites
- Restricted Sites
Select "Internet," and click on Custom Level, you'll get a dialog
box, scroll down to the Cookies section where you can Specifies
how you want Internet Explorer to handle a permanent "cookie"
A cookie is a file created by the site that stores information about you
on your computer.
To specify that you want AOL/Internet Explorer to accept cookies without
prompting you first, click Enable.
To specify that you want AOL/Internet Explorer to warn you if you are
about to receive a cookie from a Web site, click Prompt.
To specify that you do not want to allow cookies to be stored on your
computer by Web sites, and that existing cookies on your computer cannot
be read by Web sites, click Disable.
Once a cookie is rejected, it is thrown out and not saved to memory or
disk.
Camino
- In the Menu, select Preferences > Privacy icon.
- Enable the Cookies option.
- Close the window.
Opera
Opera
- In the File menu, select Preferences > Privacy.
- Choose Enable Cookies.
- In the Normal Cookies pull-down menu, choose Automatically accept all
cookies.
- In the Third Party pull-down menu, choose Automatically accept all cookies.
- Click OK.

Macintosh Browsers
Safari 1.0
- In the Menu, select Preferences > Security icon > Accept Cookies.
- Choose either of:
Always (most convenient) or
Only from sites you navigate to (more secure).
- Also, be sure to have the Javascript box checked

Note: as of now (1/1/2005) Microsoft has elected to stop supporting the IE browser
- In the Menu, select Edit > Select Preferences
for Receiving Files option.
- Select Cookies.
- For When receiving cookies, select your desired level.
- Click OK.
Camino
- In the Menu, select Preferences > Privacy icon.
- Enable the Cookies option.
- Close the window.
Opera
- In the File menu, select Preferences > Privacy.
- Choose Enable Cookies.

America Online
The AOL browser (Internet Explorer) is built into AOL BUT is NOT directly tied to the Internet
Explorer installed on your machine.
Note: as of now (1/1/2005) Microsoft has elected to stop supporting the IE browser
for the Macintosh - The last version is 5.2.3
To change the cookie setting you would
- Login your AOL account
- Click My AOL
- Click on the WWW button on the left
- Click on the Advanced settings button
- Click on the Receiving Files on the left
- Click on the Cookies
In there, you can see all current cookies (from all site you have visited)
and change the option to allow them.

Modify your security/firewall/anti-virus software settings
Security/firewall/anti-virus software can sometimes affect how browsers
handle cookies. Please make sure you have cookies enabled in your software,
and/or add "sdc.com to your "safe list" of sites.
Always read the instructions first and make a backup copy of any settings before attempting this. If you are uncertain of any steps
please contact us for help.
Zone Alarm

In Zone Alarm, select Privacy.

Under Cookie Control, click Custom

In Custom Privacy Settings:

Uncheck the box that says "Block session cookies"

Uncheck the box that says "Block persistent cookies"

Uncheck the box that says "Remove private header information".

Uncheck the box that says "Expire Cookies"

Double click on the Norton Personal Firewall icon in the tray.

Click on the Open option in the pop-up menu.

Click the Options icon in the Norton SystemWorks menu box.

Click on the Personal Firewall option in the Options menu box.

Click the Advanced Options button at the bottom of the Norton Personal
Firewall Options menu box to retrieve the default settings menu box.

Make sure you are in the "Web" tab. There may be several
domains already listed in this area.

Click on the Add Site button at the bottom of the Web defaults window.

You will need to enter "sdc.com"
(without the quotes) as a new default. This should active the default
rules section of that window.

Make sure the Cookies and Referer (under Browsing Privacy) are set
to permit as a default rule for the sdc.com domain.

Click OK, then click OK again.

Right-click the red "M" icon by your system clock.

The McAfee Privacy Service window appears. Click the "Cookies"
tab.

Enter each website address from which you would like to allow cookies.

Once completed, close the window.
